Description: 'War & Peace... Reality' is the fourth in a series of a collection named 'Blind Visions'. The collection primary focus is to illustrate how blind we can be to what is truly around us every day. We live in a set of paradigms, created by people long ago, based on the information at that time and perhaps no longer has any relation and/or relevance to present day. ‘War & Peace… Reality’ illustrates the borders in which we humans have placed and that each individual will choose to either take offense or not. In the top portion of the piece, a sunset beach scene with borders. Each border has a series of labels, countries, tools that aid man, shapes, empires and physical appearance. Some labels are insignificant in meaning. Other labels have history or issues. For example, over-weight people were never submitted to slavery, persecuted, segregated, or told they can only sit in the back seat of a bus. For that matter, people with beards or blonde hair, yet this is what happens to people who have a specific skin color. ‘War & Peace’ is much of the same thing. We all strive for peace. And because of this ‘Peace’ itself becomes a label, thus a banner of an ideal. The ‘Fight for Peace’ we have all heard this on the television, magazines, news, films - does anyone realize how stupid it sounds? Therefore these are all placed together at the top portion of the piece. The lower portion of the piece represents a life without the human labels and boundaries. A sunset of a beach - we can label it however we want, but it doesn’t change what is really there… Reality… A sunset of a beach. Reality, something I like to add, which is rarely seen through our applied labels. Free Poster - download a free poster of 'War & Peace...
